I read this article on EurasiaReview.com. Will spend more time at this wordpress website, Mr. Nielsen, as it appears very interesting and informative.
The Old Testament indicates that God has, indeed, fulfilled the promise of land to Israel. Not only did He fulfill it, but the same Scriptures are also quite adamant that God did so in every minute detail that He promised to Abraham. Notice how the following passages make a point of saying that God did everything He promised regarding the land.
“Joshua 21: 43-45: Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land which He swore to give to their fathers; and having taken possession of it, they settled there. And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as He had sworn to their fathers; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands.. Not one of all the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
“1 Kings 8: 56: Blessed be the LORD who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He uttered by Moses His servant.
“Nehemiah 9: 7-8: Thou art the LORD, the God Who didst choose Abram and bring him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans and give him the name Abraham; and Thou didst find his heart faithful before Thee, and didst make with him the covenant to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite; and Thou hast fulfilled Thy promise, for Thou art righteous.” [RSV]
Notice especially in the last line of Nehemiah 9: 8 that God had fulfilled the promise of land He made to Abraham based on the fact that He is “righteous.” In other words, it is a matter of preserving God’s integrity that the promise of land to Israel has already been fulfilled. Thus to claim that the promises have not been fulfilled and that we are still waiting for God to act upon them is to accuse God of dishonesty.

Thanks for your comment. I think Christian Zionist understanding of the promises of God to Abraham miss the point entirely. You made some very interesting points.

I just thought I would comment that I enjoyed your article on Christian Zionism that was available from the Rense dot com site today.
I have held this view for many years, not as a Christian nor a Jew, but simply a rational human being.
In fact the term Judeo-Christian seems to me a real oxymoron as well.
I have been interested in theological studies for 40 plus years, and I am well read on the subject–which is more than I can say for most of the “Christian Zionists” I have discussed these things with.
It is hard to pick out who is the most ignorant group in Amerika Inc. today, but these fanatics supporting the terrorist state of Israel are certainly some of the worst.

Thanks for your comment. You are correct about Christian Zionists being poorly read on the subject. The ones I talk to seem far more disciples of John Hagee and his racist rants than anything Jesus said.

Dear Craig,
Refreshing article on Christian Zionism. I have two studies on my site that prove Israel never owned the land. (1), “The Seed”, which shows that Israel never received the title to the land. Their possession was that of tenancy, not ownership. God retained the title to the land ever since he created the earth. He has granted the title to the land only to his son, who is the rightful and only heir. (2), “The Parable of the Tenants”, which shows that Israel was only a tenant on the land and they murdered Jesus Christ the heir.

Thanks Mike,
It really amazes me that anyone who has read the Old Testament could not easily see that the Jewish people’s occupation of the land of Canaan was conditional. When I tell this to Christian Zionists they often just look at me with a blank stare. I will have a good look at your website.

Dear Craig
Excellent article.
I’ve been a Christian for over 30yrs and my experiences with Christian Zionism and speaking out against it.
Here’s where the problem lies:
Not the Doctrine as it is who is teaching it.
What i mean is,Credentials,Titles, the Accomplishments of the individual that’s teaching them.
For example What School did you go to?What background and experience gives you the right lecture me?.
I’m give a sample person:
Ryan Lathers:Bachlors=Purdue University,Masters=Stanford Ph.D Princeton
Majors in Law and Business Administration
Was CEO of Flower Pot Corporation and Rancancos Island Fences.
Became Radio Talk Host for 5 yrs
On the Board of Trustees of Liberty University.
He’s a paid motivational speaker
(Remmber,Ryan not a real person,but a sample person)
What i just laid out is the prime reason why Christians have come to accept Christian Zionism.
It’s not neccesary the doctrine as it is who,or what they accomplished,Accolades,Credentials,The Titles
There’s a old saying”My Daughter ain’t marry a gas-station attendant”
That means Zionism is soo attractive to Christians because that’s what the movers-and-shakers of this world believe.
What you see today is:
Christian Zionists would rather hob-nobb and rub elbows with the Rothschilds and Rockefellers(You know the Prestige and Money),than my Lord Jesus Christ.
And
That’s what Christian Zionism is all about!!!

That is quite a good point you have made. A lot of Christians seem to get overawed by the status of a particular personality, thinking that status is somehow indicative of some deeper relationship with God enjoyed by the particular personality that we plebs can only hope for. Having a mega-church of 20,000 people in your congregation doesn’t imply infallibility for the Pastor.

Ron, you are so right. I have had this same reaction from people myself.
Silly, but sad. BUT, ultimately the Father is in control, which, to me is even more profound. You know, strong delusion.

Refreshing site, with level-headed comments from the readers. I just left Facebook, because of the idiocy I encountered there, very frustrating. People are just so deluded. Apostate Christians, sad really. Anyway, looking forward to perusing your whole site.
Thanks.

These so-called Jews are so beyond the pale.Other ultra-orthodox sects link them to Cain and the destruction of the TRUTH. NK’s read of Torah is so outside any acceptable understanding. Besides their abuse of women and children including the acceptance of lying when it suits them is notorious. You are backing the wrong horse on this one.

I have had quite a bit of contact with the NK Rabbis and all I can say is that my experience of them is very different than yours. I think that their understanding of the Torah has far more historical support than you give them credit for. I don’t support everything they believe of course (being a Christian), but my experience is that they are very much more gracious than you seem to believe. I have had a lot of contact with Professor Yakov Rabkin, who also takes an anti-Zionist position. I have found him to be a man of great integrity and in no way a Jew that is “beyond the pale”.

aside from the hard-core theistic exceptionalism (always the swiftest path to the embedment of dogma, which is, in its turn, the enemy of humanity & spirituality) , good article.
